DROWNING IS THE 2ND LEADING CAUSE OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH IN THE U.S. AMONG CHILDREN AGES 14 AND UNDER, AND THE LEADING CAUSE OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF CHILDREN AGES 5 AND UNDER.

A CHILD CAN DROWN IN THE TIME IT TAKES TO ANSWER THE TELEPHONE.

Jim Hazen, president and owner of Saf-T-Swim and upcoming president of the United States Swim School Association, along with Mr. Johnson, president of the National Drowning Prevention Association, work tirelessly together to prevent needless drowning accidents by promoting water safety and survival skills education.

Safer Water: Install, maintain and utilize proper fencing, gate latches, alarms and other safety equipment around the pool.

Safer Kids: Year round swimming lessons promote water safety and survival skills for children of all ages beginning as early as two months old. Provide constant adult supervision. Learn proper behavior in and around the water.

Safer Response: Parents should know how to administer CPR, first-aid, and rescue techniques. Keep an emergency action plan and phone by the pool at all times.
