Drowning is the 2ND leading cause of accidental death in the U.S. among children ages 14 and under. It is the leading cause of accidental death of children ages 5 and under.

Every year over 500 children drown in backyard swimming pools. Most of these tragedies could have been avoided if the victims only knew the crucial water safety skills that could have helped them save their own lives.

On Long Island, there are over 1600 miles of shoreline and thousands of residential swimming pools which greatly increase the chances that your child could be involved in a drowning related incident.

A child can drown in the time it takes to answer the telephone.
