Manager

Job Description

This is a Full-time professional position. The Manager position is an integral member of our senior staff and is directly responsible for all aspects of our products and customer service. The manager is also responsible for delivering results and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Exudes a passion for teaching high quality swimming lessons and deliver an excellent customer experience while leading by example and ensuring employees meet our Saf-T-Swim customer service                         

  • Respond to all customer inquiries in a manner that supports Saf-T- Swim’s mission vision and values.

  • Develop and maintain a high performing team through recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating.

  • Ensure staff is goal oriented, trained to identify sales opportunities and consistently communicate Saf-T-swim programs and promotions.

  • Create staff schedules that meet the needs of the business both daily and weekly. Ensure the management teams weekly schedule meets the instructor hours requirement as set by the company.

  • Ensure quality assurance measures are adhered to and maintain a safe, secure and compliant work environment.

  • Analyze P&L statements and make sound business decisions regarding driving top line revenue, while controlling payroll and expenses to maximize profitability.

  • Manage financial transactions: do all necessary banking and deposits and ensure that all cash handling procedures are being followed.

  • Maintain appropriate and accurate inventory levels of merchandise and supplies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Outstanding customer service, communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate, supervise and develop staff
  • Solid planning and organizational skills with an ability to execute at a high level with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret detailed sales reports and statistical
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer service-oriented role and minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent business experience.

Assistant Manager

Job Description

Assistant Managers support the manager in delivering customer service standards, driving sales through appropriate scheduling, staffing, training and overall efficient operation of each location. The Assistant Manager executes the Manager’s staffing plan through recruiting, interviewing and training of new hires. They possess a passion for teaching students of all ages swimming and water safety skills. As an acting manager on duty, they will be responsible for the overall operation of the school in the absence of the manager. They help the Manager build a strong team by motivating, training, and coaching all team members to achieve results.

Responsibilities
  • Exude a passion for teaching high quality swimming lessons an ensure quality assurance measures are in place.
  • Drive excellent customer experience by leading by example and coaching the staff on delivering service with a smile and resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Coach and motivate sales associates to meet all sales goals and set daily and weekly goals in the absence of the facility manager.
  • Support manager’s talent plan by recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.
  • Provide performance feedback, follow-up on performance action plans for team members as directed by the manager.
  • Create staff schedules that meet the needs of the business both daily weekly and confirm customer enrollment is accurate in the system.
  • Support the manager in controlling payroll expenses and accurate scheduling by making necessary changes on the daily schedule.
  • Conduct Pool maintenance and chemical adjustments daily.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings with both AM and PM staff addressing promotions and/or other issues.
  • Manage financial transactions and do all necessary banking and deposits and ensure that cash handling procedures are being followed.
  • Conduct accurate inventory counts of Merchandise, Chemicals, Cleaning and Office Supplies and submit inventory list and purchase orders to Manager for approval.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of supervisor experience in a customer service centric environment.
  • Solid planning and organizational skills and a proven ability to delegate responsibilities to staff.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Sense of urgency while being detail oriented.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays. Must maintain 40-hour work week.

  • Required Certifications Accepted by the County:
    • Lifeguard & CPR
    • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) (as facility needs).

Supervisor

Job Description

The Supervisor oversees and directs team members to ensure customer service, sales goals and Saf-T-Swim training standards are met daily. In the absence of the management team, a supervisor is responsible for the efficient and overall operation of the Swim school. They support the Manager’s daily operational plan through accurate scheduling, motivating, training and coaching team members to achieve results.

Responsibilities
  • Model excellent customer service skills and coach employees to do so.
  • Supervise and direct employees based on daily schedule and their role requirements
  • Recommend hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions and recognition for team members.
  • Schedule and conduct on-going training.
  • Resolve customer/employee issues professionally; escalate to management team when necessary.
  • Ensure all sales associates and instructors are following proper policies and procedures.
  • Perform Administrative duties and conduct Facilities Checklist daily.
  • Maintain Inventory and merchandise displays.
  • Maintain facility and ensure overall cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Perform required opening and/or closing, cash handling and banking procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Previous Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Consistently work 30+ hours a week, not to exceed 40 hours.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • CPR/Lifeguard certifications.

    • Occasionally, must be able to lift and/or move about 25lbs and possibly climb ladders.

Senior Swim Instructor

Job Description

Our senior instructors are responsible for training new instructors and ensuring they successfully complete the Saf-T-Swim training program. In addition, they should have a passion for swimming, welcoming demeanor, professional appearance, be well organized, and have a positive can-do attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Create a vision for the parent to understand where the lessons are leading and provide continuous constructive feedback to both students and their parents/guardians regarding their swimming progress.
  • Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills while conducting a quality lesson.
  • Train new instructors our Saf-T-swim Curriculum, appropriate safety protocols, programs, promotions and administrative support systems.
  • Take initiative to mentor and coach instructors both in and out of the pool.
  • Meet with managers to establish training needs for trainees and establish a schedule.
  • May be asked to become a swim team coach- schedule and staff swim meets.
  • Maintain all swim team paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous training experience and thorough knowledge of all strokes.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must have patience, love teaching, and enjoy working with infants and children as well as adults.

  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to physically push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Preferably have CPR certification and Lifeguard certification.

Instructor

Job Description

Our Saf-T-Swim instructors have a deep passion for teaching and working with students of all ages, providing necessary life-saving skills alongside learning to love and respect the water. Instructors are responsible for teaching in accordance with Saf-T-Swim's standards, following the curriculum and customizing the lessons to teach the student at their own pace.

Responsibilities
  • Teach swimming skills in accordance with Saf-T-Swim's curriculum in a fun, positive, manner.
  • Provide continuous, positive feedback to student and customers regarding their swimming progress.
  • Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, positive reinforcement, and introduction of required skills while conducting a quality lesson.
  • Create a vision for the parent to understand where the lessons are leading and provide constructive feedback, adapting their teaching style to suit the student’s needs.
  • Contact students prior to upcoming session and update student information in the system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Arrive for work 15 minutes prior to scheduled lesson.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
Qualifications
  • Must enjoy working with infants, children and adults.
  • Friendly, confident and possess love of the water.
  • Ability to handle high pressure/stressful situations.
  • Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment when making decisions regarding the student’s safety and well-being.
  • Neatly groomed/good hygiene.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.

Sales Associate

Job Description

As a Sales Associate you are the face of Saf-T-Swim. You are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and making our customers feel welcome and well informed.

Responsibilities
  • Required to be always friendly and courteous as well as greet every customer as they enter and leave the facility.
  • You are expected to interact with all customers, students, and staff members in an upbeat and positive manner that supports the Saf-T-Swim Brand’s
  • Possess a mastery of all Saf-T-Swim programs, procedures, policies, products, and functions to confidently provide all necessary information.
  • Convert leads into registrations by asking open-ended questions to determine customer needs and making appropriate product recommendations.
  • Establish an ongoing relationship with customers to drive long term enrollment through consistent communication and being well informed regarding their student's lesson progress.
  • Maintain a calm professional demeanor when faced with customer dissatisfaction by gracefully diffusing the disgruntled customer’s concerns objections and escalate to a manager or supervisor when unable to resolve customer issues.
  • Conduct Administrative duties such as open and close the facility, organize schedules, and organize merchandise displays.
  • Ensure all current and past registration forms are completed with all required information and signatures and process financial transactions in a timely manner in our systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Lifeguard

Job Description

The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the overall safety of all students, patrons, and staff members in and around the pool area and preventing and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain constant, uninterrupted surveillance of patrons in the pool area using proper 10/20 scanning method.
  • Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of everyone in the pool area in the event of an emergency.
  • Provide emergency care treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Prepare and maintain preliminary pool area Incident Reports for both customers and employees.
  • Must always wear a whistle and know how to use it accordingly.
  • Check pool equipment for readiness, ex.: Backboard, pool buoy.
  • Check chlorine and PH levels hourly.
  • Check alkalinity and hardness daily.
  • Keep records of pool readings.
  • Keep pool deck clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including required pool maintenance.
  • Presents a professional appearance and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Qualifications
  • Interact professionally with employees, customers and students while not becoming distracted when on duty.
  • Must be able to keep and maintain current lifeguard and CPR certifications that are recognized by the Department of Health, by county, for swimmers of all ages.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Possess a strong swimming background.
  • Legal documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the US.
  • Physical demands:
    • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
    • Requires close supervision and the ability to adjust focus often.
    • Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel and be able to reach with both hands and arms.
    • Must be able to complete all lifeguard certification qualifications efficiently.
